NEW REHEARSAL SPACE, NEW SONGS, AND NEW VIBE--FTA ROCKING IN 2023!

FTA Family!!! It has been a long since we’ve reached out to give you a proper update on what we’ve been up to, but we assure you, there has been a LOT going on.

Our super exciting news is that for the past few months, we have been officially rehearsing at our drummer Ken’s home studio, unofficially dubbed Casa Candelas, in Queens, NYC!  The sound is terrific, the space is comfortable, and the vibe is brilliant.  It has been extremely rewarding and has allowed us to work comfortably and freely, unleashing our creativity.  We’ve been working on lots of new songs for our new, as-yet-untitled, album that we plan to release in 2024.  We intend to share teaser clips, documenting our new material, regularly. We want to thank all of you once again for coming to see us at The Gramercy Theatre in NYC earlier this year.  It was great to return to the stage with such an enthusiastic audience in our hometown.  We plan to play live in the coming months, introducing lots of new music into our sets as well as playing your favorites from the “Remnants” EP and “…And The Fire Within.”

NEW YEAR, NEW SINGLE, NEW FEATURES, + NEW MUSIC!

Happy New Year FTA Family! 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting, fruitful year-—We’re so excited to be back rehearsing and writing new music in our rehearsal space in Midtown Manhattan in NYC as we maneuver the best we can during the pandemic. Lots has been going on within the FTA universe that we can’t wait to share with you.

We’ve been fortunate to get terrific press coverage and reviews from several great publications, sharing their enthusiasm for our latest EP, REMNANTS. We’ve been getting back into rehearsal mode, writing and finishing some great new material that we hope to share with you as it gets safer for us to book shows in the coming weeks. We are eyeing late spring for a return to the live stage. In the meantime, we are scheduled to be featured on a few podcasts and additional articles are coming. Be on the lookout for a special event in the coming weeks where you can catch us playing songs live in a studio via a livestream for a very special audience. Details to follow.

NEW EP, NEW LYRIC VIDEO, VAN HALEN CHARITY TRIBUTE ALBUM, AND MORE!

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy during these crazy times. It has been extremely challenging for us, both individually and as a group, to keep our spirits up when even rehearsing in person has been untenable. Through Zoom calls and Facetime, we have been doing our best to play, write, and share ideas as we wait for conditions to improve.

The silver lining in this situation is that we have finished mixing and mastering our new five-song EP, “Remnants,” for a late spring/early summer 2021 release via Dr. Music Records! The first single, “Remnants,” will be out in May, accompanied by a vibrant lyric video by Wayne Joyner who’s done great clips for Dream Theater, Sevendust, and Ayreon among others. Make sure to check FTA’s social media sites for teasers and song clips in the coming weeks. We are bursting with excitement to share our new music with you. Patience—it’s coming!

We were also thrilled to be asked to contribute a track to the Long Island Van Halen Tribute on Illogical Records. For the first time in nearly 10 months, all four of us were in the same space—Spin Studios in LIC, NYC—tracking our version of Van Halen’s “Drop Dead Legs” over a couple of days. It was a truly special, joyous time being together, playing full throttle, and recording our first cover ever. It’s even more gratifying knowing that all proceeds will be going to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation of New York in memory of one of our musical heroes, the great Edward Van Halen. MASTERING NEW MUSIC, EURO PRESS, UPCOMING VIDEOS, AND STAYING POSITIVE!

We hope all of you have been keeping safe and healthy during this pandemic. In the midst of our world turning upside down, we have been staying positive and being creative.

After several months of being in and out of Spin Recording Studios in NYC, we finished tracking our new five-song EP, “Remnants.” Roger Lian is currently mastering the EP. In the meantime, we are working on artwork and planning videos for a few singles to be released this fall. We are extremely excited to share it with you!

In the meantime, we've received great reviews for our global release of “…And The Fire Within” via Dr. Music Records. The origins of FOUR TRIPS AHEAD go back to the year 2005, when the experienced New York musicians first met in search of a new creative outlet.
